GROUP CLASSES
GBHC provides group classes for both adults and children. These classes are designed to provide education information and teach clients skills to be better able to manage common challenges. Classes are provided in the evenings and weekends.

MANAGING EMOTIONS FROM THE INSIDE OUT: TEACHING KIDS SELF-REGULATION STRATEGIES
Now Enrolling: Mondays March 2-April 27, 2020

Does your child exhibit challenging behaviors such as tantrums, defiance, avoidance of certain tasks/activities, whining, or difficulty getting along with peers/siblings? This class is designed to teach children ages 7-12 skills to better understand and manage their behavior. During this 8-week course children will learn to identify emotions in themselves and others, appropriately express feelings, strategies to cope with their emotions, and understand how their behavior impacts others. Strategies taught in this class have been proven to help children with a wide range of problems. Both insurance and private pay accepted for this course. DISCIPLINE WITHOUT DRAMA PARENTING GROUP
Now Enrolling: Saturdays March 28th and April 4th 9am-2pm
In our office, parents often report discipline is ineffective and does not change their child's behavior. They feel inadequate, overwhelmed, and hopeless. This course is based on the New York Times Best Seller "No Drama Discipline" and deigned to teach parents effective discipline strategies, how to manage challenging behaviors through connection and co-regulation, teach your child valuable life lessons, and communicate love and kindness while remaining consistent. This group is offered in both a 2-day Saturday morning and 6-week evening format. This course is not covered by insurance. Cost is $250 per parent or $400 per couple. UNDERSTANDING TRAUMA 101
Now Enrolling: Thursday March 19th 6-8pm
According to the VA, between 50-60% of people experience some type of trauma in their lives. This means someone you know has likely experienced trauma in their lifetime. This class is designed to answer three questions: What is trauma? What is the impact of trauma? How can I help? This class is geared towards parents, entry level medical professionals, teachers, child care providers, and members of the community. The cost for this course is $50 per person.
